How to Become an Authenticated User

As an Authenticated User here on Canuck Classifieds Mart, other users of this site get the satisfaction of knowing that you have been given verification from Canuck Classifieds Mart. Other users benefit from knowing that you have been given a background check, which means there is less chance of fraud from you than other non-authenticated users. YOU benefit from other users relaying that trust to you and therefore being more open to doing business - and that's the whole point of using Canuck Classifieds Mart!

Here's how to become an Authenticated User:

1. Email us at sales@canuckclassifiedsmart.com and provide us with your:
   • Home Mailing Address (PO Boxes not allowed)
   • Home Telephone Number
   • Driver's License Number
   • A faxed copy of your driver's license (further information provided through email reply)
   • One-time processing fee of $15 (plus GST) (further information provided through email reply)
2. We will mail you a secret verification code to be used for activation.
3. We will then directly call you at the telephone number you gave us to confirm your personal information and receipt of the verification code.
   

   * Verification Concept: The user would have to live at the given address with the given telephone number in order to receive the verification code and our call.

4. If approved by Canuck Classifieds Mart, you will be indicated as an Authenticated User:
   • Enter the given verification code when you first log into your account after approval - you only have to do this once in the beginning.
   • Receiving an icon beside your username.
     * Verification Concept: Any transactions one has with an Authenticated User will require an address to which they will transfer the item/payment to. By having given us their address, we can compare that with the shipping address they give to the other party. In that manner, we can detect possible fraud.
5. You're free to be a buyer and seller as an Authenticated User!
6. Every 6 months, we will require re-verification by sending you mail with pertinent information, and then contacting you by telephone to verify the receipt of the mail. If we can not contact you at the home telephone number and address initially provided, then we reserve the right to remove your status as an Authenticated User.
